"A run for women, a celebration for all" - the Swiss Women's Run Bern is the largest Swiss mass sports event for women with up to 12,000 participants and 30,000 spectators every year. The idyllic route in the heart of Bern along the River Aare can be completed in 5 different distances.

Running

  • The girls run without their parents, accompanied by dream doctors from the Theodora Foundation. The parents can pick up the girls directly after the finish line (see map violet meeting point). In order to curb the ambition of the children, they will not be classified according to time, but an alphabetical list of finishers will be drawn up.

  • Start time: from 1.45 pm
  • Vintage 2014 - 2018
  • The girls run unaccompanied by their parents. Parents can pick up the girls at the end of the refreshment route (Bundesgasse) (see map green meeting point).
  • A ranking list is kept for the Girls' Mile and the three fastest girls are honored at the winners' ceremony (3 awards in this category: born in 2014 and 2015/2016 and 2017/2018)

  • Start time: from 1.40 pm
  • Vintage 2011 - 2013
  • The girls run unaccompanied by their parents.

  • Start time: from 14.04 hrs
  • Vintage 2010 - 2023
  • The girls run together with their mothers or other female adult companions.
  • The girls receive a shirt on site and a commemorative medal at the finish.
  • The shirt for the accompanying adult is not included in the entry fee. However, it can be purchased at a special price of CHF 20 when registering.
  • In order to curb the children's ambition, there will be an alphabetical list of finishers rather than ranking by time.

  • The finish is at 1.20 pm. The broom wagon runs at an average of 14 min/km.
  • The broom wagon determines the end of the run. Participants behind the broom wagon run at their own risk and preferably on the sidewalk. The running time can no longer be recorded.
  • Start time: from 09.10 hrs, last start at 09.37 hrs.
  • The finish is at 11.30 am. Up to kilometer 2, the broom wagon will run at an average of 7 min/km, then at 9 min/km
  • The broom wagon determines the end of the run. Participants behind the broom wagon run at their own risk and preferably on the sidewalk. The running time can no longer be recorded.
  • Start time
    10km: from 09.10 am
    5 km: from 11.30 am
  • Entry fee: see 5 km running or 10 km running
  • Finish: the same finish times apply as for 5 km running and 10 km runningYour result will not appear on the ranking list. You will be notified of your time after the race if you have provided your cell phone number or e-mail address.

Visually impaired people register in category 20 (5km) or 120 (10km). Accompanying persons start free of charge. Please state the surname and first name of the accompanying person when registering online.

(Nordic) Walking

  • Start time: from 12.15pm
  • The finish is at 1.50 pm
  • The broom wagon determines the end of the run. Participants behind the broom wagon run at their own risk and preferably on the sidewalk. The running time can no longer be recorded.
  • The (Nordic) walkers will be classified in an alphabetical list of finishers (no ranking list).
  • (see map violet meeting point). In order to curb the ambition of the children, they will not be classified according to time, but an alphabetical list of finishers will be drawn up.
  • Start time from 09.40 am
  • The broom wagon runs at an average of 11 min/km and determines the end of the run. Participants behind the broom wagon run at their own risk and preferably on the sidewalk. The running time can no longer be recorded.
  • The (Nordic) walkers will be classified in an alphabetical list of finishers (no ranking list).
  • Start time: from 10.50 am
  • There is no ranking or timekeeping in this category.
  • The broom wagon travels at an average of 12 min/km.
  • The 3km can be completed with or without poles.

School classes and teams

  • All school classes (including teachers) receive 25% on the total entry fee.

    Also this year: Stamp cards as train tickets
    So that teachers do not have to enter two codes for each individual pupil to obtain the bus/train ticket to Bern, this year there will again be a stamp card for each person in the school group registration for the outward and return journey to/from Bern. We will send these stamp cards together with the start numbers to the teachers by post in the run-up to the Women's Run.

    Participation is possible on all routes. Please note the age group.

Groups of 8 people or more can with this link register. Groups of 15 or more benefit from a 10% discount on the entry fee.

Registration for the Swiss Women's Run 2026 is open!

Application deadline: The official closing date for applications is for school classes and groups 17.05.2026 at 23.59 and for individual applications 3.06.2026 at 11.59 pm.

Groups and school classes of 8 people or more are requested to use the group registration form.

Discounts: Groups of 15 people or more benefit from a 10% discount and school classes from a 25% discount on the entry fee.

Free start for people living in poverty

In cooperation with Winterhilfe Kanton Bern, people on a tight budget (and resident in the canton of Bern) can take part in the Women's Run Switzerland free of charge. Further information is available at Winter aid and under CultureLegi to find.
