Traffic routing around Bern, closed roads
Here you will find important information on traffic management in Bern:
On June 6 and 7, 2026, several streets and squares will be partially or fully closed to traffic and subject to a no-parking zone. Vehicles parked illegally will be towed at the owner's expense. Road users are requested to avoid the city center, as well as the Monbijou and Kirchenfeld districts, by taking a wide detour and to follow the instructions of the traffic wardens. Significant traffic disruptions are to be expected in the area of the running course. Please observe the local signage.
The following streets have parking bans for private vehicles or are closed:
From Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 5:00 AM, closure or no-parking zone:
- Scene and Belt Alley (until Sunday 8:00 PM)
- Chapel, Dove, and Mulberry Streets (until Sunday approx. 6:00 PM)
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, there will be the following traffic restrictions:
- From 5:00 AM to approx. 5:00 PM, closure or no-stopping zone: Sulgeneckstrasse, Monbijoustrasse, Eigerstrasse, Monbijoubrücke, Aegertenstrasse, Bernastrasse, Englische Anlagen, Helvetiaplatz, Thunstrasse, Helvetiastrasse, Hallwylstrasse, Mottastrasse, Jungfraustrasse, Marienstrasse, Schwellenmattstrasse, Kirchenfeldbrücke, Casinoplatz, Theaterplatz, Münzgraben, Münzrain, Kochergasse, Bundesgasse, Herrengasse, Münsterplatz, Münstergasse, Amthausgasse, and Bundesplatz
- From 5:00 AM to approximately 11:30 AM, closure or parking ban: Dalmaziquai, Tierparkweg, Weststrasse, Dalmazirain, Thormannstrasse, and the lower part of Jubiläumsstrasse.
Casino parking and Hotel Bellevue-Palace are accessible via Mattequartier / Münzrain. The bollard system is deactivated. Local diversions are signposted.
